ICTALC The training and info centre for Compression Therapy and associated limb conditions from an African perspective. We train and teach Africans and South Africans to be competent in compression therapy and many other therapies and conditions associated with limbs. We focus on both upper and lower limbs and address vascular, muscular, and skeletal issues.

We believe Africa has its own unique challenges and therefore cannot just adopt European and American methods without adapting them to our needs and capabilities.

Upcoming CPD Lectures

Compression Therapy & Wound Care of the Hand + how to use silicone in hand therapy.

How does wound care and compression therapy differ between the Hand and the Arm/Leg? This is a look at the basics of wound care and compression and how it should be applied to the hand. Send in your problematic case studies with pictures for discussion. The second hour will be spent on silicone techniques used for the hand. You will receive a starter kit at cost as part of the fee structure. We will demonstrate the most common use of silicone online. You may need a patient for this!
